DELUXE EXTRA LIGHTWEIGHT TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30 WCF. S# 160125. Mfg. 1902. Bbl. 22" extra lightweight with special order ramp mounted Lyman bead front sight & Lyman rear. Page 114 of the "ARMAX" study of the model 1894 Winchester lists only 2,252 of the 353,999 factory recorded 1894s as being manufactured with a 22" barrel (0.63%). Other special features include 1/2 mag., style "H" checkered highly figured deluxe XXX walnut forearm & pistol grip stock having hard rubber Winchester shotgun buttplate. Left side of lower tang marked "16370 XXX R". Inside of stock channel marked "16370 94". CONDITION: metal retains 40% original blue with scattered light peppery oxidation & minor handling marks. Original wood finish show age shrinkage with small gap at rear of forearm. left side of buttstock at heel has 1" hairline crack extending from buttplate. Hammer & lever retain traces of original case color. Buttplate exhibits 2 cracks extending from upper & lower screws reaching edge of buttplate and 1 small chip missing from left side of toe.
